Mathilda Forsby

I am a postdoctoral researcher in the IMPACT (Innovative use of Mobile Phones to promote physical ACTivity and nutrition across the lifespan) research group, led by Professor Marie Löf. 

I am a registered dietitian and hold a PhD in Medical Sciences (2026) from the University of Gothenburg.

In the IMPACT research group, I am involved in the SPARK (Smart Phone App for gestational diabetes patients suppoRting Key lifestyle behaviors and glucose control) project. The project provides support to women with gestational diabetes through a smartphone app. The intervention includes guidance on healthy eating and physical activity, as well as support for glycaemic control through daily monitoring of blood glucose levels.

Prior to joining the IMPACT research group, my doctoral project aimed to assess the role of food, fortification, and supplements in maternal and child nutrition, with a particular focus on vitamin D. The research was based on data from a Swedish pregnancy cohort and a randomised controlled trial conducted within antenatal care in southwest Sweden.
