About me

  • I am a medical doctor trained in Myanmar (M.B., B.S) with professional experience working in the international NGO sector on HIV and TB control. I completed my Master’s degree in Health Economics, Policy and Management (2020–2022) at Karolinska Institutet, where my master thesis conducted in Linus Jönsson’s group at the Department of Neurobiology, Care Sciences and Society.  I continued in the same research group for my PhD (2022-2026). My PhD research focuses on understanding the clinical and economic value of blood-based biomarkers in Alzheimer's disease, and how it should be used in real‑world clinical settings to optimize the clincial and economic benefits. My work combines clinical research, large‑scale national registry data, and health‑economic modelling to understand disease progression, costs, and quality of life.

I started my post-doctoral researcher position in Caroline Ingre's ALS clinical research group, where I will work on understanding the cost of illness and  cost-effectiveness of existing and emergying care and therapeutic interventions in ALS using registry data.

Research

  • My research interests lie in health economics and implementation research in neurodegenerative diseases. I use real‑world registry data to inform healthcare decision‑making and develop health‑economic models to understand the costs and health benefits of emerging diagnostic and treatment strategies.

Teaching

  • I taught in the Master Program in Health Economics, Policy and Management in Karolinska Institutet, where I contributed to lecture related to decision tree development.
