Maria Morelló Miravet

Maria Morelló Miravet, MD is a hematology resident at Karolinska University Hospital and a PhD candidate at Karolinska Institutet, Stockholm. Her research focuses on the translational development of a base-editing gene therapy for sickle cell disease, with the aim of establishing Sweden's first academic hospital-based autologous gene-editing platform for hematopoietic stem cells. With prior clinical experience in cell therapy and allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation, her work spans preclinical development, GMP manufacturing, regulatory translation, and early-phase clinical trial planning to support future first-in-human implementation.
