About me

  • I have been a PhD student at the Division of Speech and Language Pathology, Karolinska Institutet, since 2025. Alongside my doctoral studies, I hold a specialist clinical position at the Speech and Language Pathology Department, Danderyd Hospital.

Since 2018, I have been a Speech and Language Pathologist with specialist certification in voice disorders, specialising in voice therapy and vocal ergonomics. I previously led the innovation project The Voice Therapy App, which resulted in the development of Rösthjälpen (The Voice Assistant), a digital tool designed to support the delivery of voice therapy.

The app has been recognised through nominations for Dagens Medicin's Athena Prize and the Region Stockholm Best Implementation Award.

Research

  • My PhD project, The Voice in Harmony with the Work Environment: Pathways to Sustainable Voice Use at Work, aims to promote sustainable work ability and voice health in voice-intensive occupations.

The project investigates how patients with voice disorders experience voice therapy supported by Rösthjälpen (The Voice Assistant), and whether minimally guided, self-directed training using the app can reduce self-reported voice problems among workers.

In addition, I will translate and culturally adapt the Work Hoarse screening instrument into Swedish and establish cut-off values for the identification of work-related voice problems. In collaboration with representatives from the education sector, occupational health services, and healthcare organisations, the project will develop a model for risk assessment and screening of work-related voice health. The model is intended to provide a foundation for future occupational health guidelines.

The PhD project forms part of the research project Samklang: Pathways to Sustainable Voice Use at Work (information available in Swedish):
