Elena Fortin

About me

I am a licensed medical doctor and PhD candidate at Karolinska Institutet. My academic and clinical interests revolve around diabetes, prediabetes and cardiovascular disease. I earned my medical degree from Padova University in Italy, were I was born and grew up, but I have been dedicated to both medical research and patient care in Sweden since 2022.

My recent work explores the relationship between novel biomarkers, such as mannose and copeptin, with dysglycaemia and cardiovascular disease, aiming to contribute to innovative solutions in the field.
