Registration for the XXIII Cancer Research KI Retreat on 28-29 September 2026 is now open!
Registration is now open for the XXIII Cancer Research KI Retreat, taking place on 28-29 September 2026 at the beautiful Djurönäset Conference Hotel. The annual retreat is a highlight in the Cancer Research KI calendar, offering an inspiring setting for scientific exchange, collaboration, and reflection at the forefront of cancer research.
This year’s program features an outstanding lineup of keynote speakers: Prof. Elaine Fuchs, Head of the Laboratory of Mammalian Cell Biology and Development at The Rockefeller University; Dr. Joan Massagué, Director of the Sloan Kettering Institute for Cancer Research; Prof. Nicholas McGranahan, Professor of Cancer Evolution and Genomics at University College London; and Prof. Laurence Zitvogel, Professor of Immunology and Director of the Tumor Immunology and Immunotherapy Laboratory at Gustave Roussy. Together, they will offer cutting-edge perspectives spanning basic, translational, and clinical cancer research.
Researchers and clinicians from Karolinska Institutet and Karolinska University Hospital at all career stages are warmly encouraged to attend. Places are limited and will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis, so we encourage you to secure your spot early.

The retreat is open to cancer researchers and clinicians affiliated with Karolinska Institutet and Karolinska University Hospital. Please register using your official work email address. Registrations submitted with a non-official email will be automatically canceled.
- Registration fee: 1200 SEK (excluding VAT)
- Registration deadline: May 31, 2026
Abstract submission
All participants are encouraged to submit an abstract. Detailed instructions on how to submit your abstract will be sent to registered participants in the registration confirmation email.

Cancellation Policy
Due to the high level of interest in participating in the CRKI Retreat, a stricter cancellation policy than in previous years will be applied.
All cancellations must be submitted in writing to the conference secretariat at CRKIretreat2026@akademikonferens.se.

Cancellations should be made in writing to the conference secretariat at CRKIretreat2026@akademikonferens.se. If an unpaid registration is cancelled, a cancellation fee of SEK 250 will be charged.
- Cancellations made by August 14, 2026: The total amount will be refunded except for the cancellation fee of SEK 250.
- Cancellations made after August 14, 2026: No refunds will be issued.
- Cancellation of separate activities or meals: Not refundable.
- Cancellations made after September 17, 2026: Without prior information, any cancellation by this date or later will be charged SEK 4820 (full cost of participation).
The full charge of SEK 4820 will also apply in the following cases:
- If requested accommodation is not used, or cancelled, later than September 17.
- Lack of attendance at the Retreat despite prior registration (i.e., "no-show").
Change of Name at no extra cost
If you are unable to attend, you may send someone in your place at no extra cost (you are responsible for arranging this with your replacement). Please contact the conference administration office, Academic Conferences, at CRKIretreat2026@akademikonferens.se including:
- Your name
- The name of your replacement
- The person who will be replacing you in CC
- Cancer Research KI email in CC (cancerresearchki@ki.se)
